psychological problems because of bullying. jennifer franciotti is live with more on the story. >> the family is going for $1 million to $10 million in damages. the family is suing for three counts of deprivation of constitutional rights. the lawsuit against the howard county board of education makes serious allegations, according to the suit. a sixth grade student at patapsco middle school was bullied by a group of students beginning in 2007. he suffered violence, including being stabbed with pencils, he was pushed and slammed into lockers. the issue of bullying has done a lot of attention recently in schools around the country. baltimore county just held their annual safe school conference this week. >> we have a positive behavior planning approach to problems such as bullying. look at problems from a three tiered set problem-solving approach. >> the approach is to take care of the problem before it causes more problems for the student. >> the students may develop a disorder such as a depression or dramatic stress disorder. >> the boy suffered posttraumatic stress disorder and had to be pla
